I am creating this blog primarily as a curriculum resource for high school life science teachers. The main objective of this blog is to provide a mechanism for teacher to access real published data regarding the effects of biodiversity, specifically how changes in biodiversity can effect other organisms and trophic levels, and ecosystem processes and stability. Through this venue teacher can share real data with the students while concurrently helping to develop student’s graph reading and critical thinking skills. Each post will be a meaningful graph with a brief explanation of the project and interpretation of the data/graph and the general conclusions from the research. As well, I will list for each graph some possible discussion questions to further facilitate conversation and enrich understanding.
Please stay tuned for upcoming updates as I learn how to manage and edit a blog. Feel free to leave a comment for how I might improve this resource and specifically any research that would be valuable to include.
